carb problems? help!

i have a 85 siverado shorty.305/350.i just swaped carbs today with a 350 carb.runs good cold,but not warm.sounds like its girgleing? theres a 2 wire plug in the top.should this have power? it doesnt.im flustered!

My two cents worth:

Would be interested in knowing about that two wire plug.
Are we talking trottle body injection or a carburator?

Check all the vacuum hoses and emissions components.

Sounds like the carb you have is computer interfaced. (typical of the ESC system) was the carb you removed like this?

I'm new to the forum but thought I might could help. If the two wire hook up you mentioned is on the front passenger side of the carb and one wire runs to a thermal vacuum switch then unhooking it won't hurt. It's a fuel enrichment port for the carb when needed with emissions during timing advance. We unhook them all the time for performance sake. They tend to leak and cause the carb to run rich. After a rebuild it usually helps to plug the port. I don't know how your set up is though without seeing it. Hope this helps.
