Yes they did, what exactly do you need to prove that is was ?  A letter from GM, or a listing for one that is for sale with a gas engine in it ?
In out tech section there are manuals, and a link to the GM heritage website that has all the details on the trucks.
     See the link here.  http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/smforum/index.php?topic=18701.msg149510#msg149510

You will have to contact them and request what you need.

I'm a huge fan of the 6.2 diesel
Is there anything wrong with yours?
Will you have to meet the emission standards for a gas motor?

I can't fault you for wanting more power.  I'm just wondering if you will have to meet any specific emission requirements.

I try but I don't know who contact... @bake74

Try here:   http://www.gm.com/toolbar/contactUs.html, there is a phone # for Cheverolet and for GM.  Call and see what happens.  I found this by a internet search on how to contact GM headquarters by the way.

You can easily prove that it came with a gas motor from GM's site that shows the available engines.  The 6.2L diesel was standard base option on a 1 ton 2WD.
See page 7 here:
http://gmheritagecenter.com/docs/gm-heritage-archive/vehicle-information-kits/Chevrolet-Trucks/1986-Chevrolet-Truck.pdf

On page 23 is shows the 5.7L available on C-K30 series.

Shame your in France, I'd happily swap you my 350 for a 379 ;D

Could you maybe not add a turbo for more power? Isn't the Hummer diesel just a 6.2 bored to 6.5 with a turbo added?

Would a Haynes or Chiltons manual featuring both engines be enough proof? Does France tax by CO2 emissions?
