Title: kickpanel vent -- common leak area?
Post by: vince311 on October 11, 2008, 10:43:28 PM
I had noticed that water was pooling on both sides of my cab...near the front of the door, on the inside of the floor weatherstripping.

After removing the carpet and then pouring water on the outside of the fender/windshield area.... it became clear that water is dripping from the kickpanel.

After removing the kickpanel, it appears the seal between the kickpanel and the body is completely stiff and flattened.

I assume replacing the seal is a good idea...but is there anything else that can be done to prevent water from entering through this area? Maybe a Silicone bead?

If the seal is stiff, I would replace it.  That should fix the problem.
