Wow that's surprising, it got the oil off of beavers in Prince William sound just before the Orca Killer Whales ate them.
There is a product called wax and silicone remover. Get it at Automotive paint stores. Will remove without hurting the paint.

I've had good results with quick detailing spray as well as WD40 especially on older paint/single stage.
