Just out of curiosity, would it be possible to swap in a shifter assembly off of a Later or Different Model Trasfer Case??? Just wondering, cause my '77 doesn't have a backlite indicatior, and not even an Idiot Light in the Instrument Cluster(It has just a flat plate with the info raised on it)..... My old '89 K2500 had a Kool little Backlite Diagram that showed if it was in 4wd, and briefly showed when it was shifted back into 2wd.... I wouldn't mind swapping in one of those, but I would even be content to have an Indictor like most '81-87's have.....
