Headlights and more
« on: April 15, 2016, 08:32:24 PM »
I have a 84 k10 today my windshield wipers wouldnt turn on then they came on but wouldnt turn off then they worked normal and then went back to not working. On top of that my headlights and dashlights just stopped working. The lighting issues started after I changed valve cover gaskets.

On your wiper issue. I had similar issues. I was to the point, when it wasn't workin properly, I would give the wiper motor a couple pops w/a screw driver handle. It would go, sometimes w/no issues for awhile. It was getting worse. After a bit of reading up on it after taking apart, cleaning an grease what looked lubed at 1 time. My conclusion was a bad spot on the armature. Replaced the motor. No more issues.

On your light issues, sounds like bad ground somewhere. Do you know how to use a Multimeter?
Never Apologize..........as it shows signs of weakness

Check behind the left(drivers) valve cover for a braided ground wire from the back of the head to the firewall is intact.
Check you did not disturb any other wires in the firewall area while working.

And yes a multimeter for the wiper problem.
