Yea oem is prob the best way to go for me. I plane to keep the 67 inline 6 stock for a while and then swap to a 4 bb intake and headers...

Sounds cool, I always wanted to do that with a 292, just to be different.

I had the 4.1L I-6 in a 79 GMC which had the integral head.  Bad exhaust leak, broken bolts and what a dog but it never left me stranded.  Before switching to GM for good after I got my 85C20 Scottsdale I had Fords with the 300 I-6, what a torque monster but never had a 292...  Picture was taken about 1996 I think.  I had the white 81 and the blue 79.  The 81 was a longbed stepper but when I got it one of the fenders was rotted off of it.

WoW 1996 I love old pics of trucks and I was only 13 years old back then lol. I like the 79, looks like it had potential like my 80 hahaha. But yea the old 6 you just can't kill them. My 80s 250 is a good motor and the guy that had it before me drove it every where and I am sure it would go alot longer. I plan on keeping it and dropping it in a truck one day lol because I just can't bring my self to scrap it...
