Hey, I resemble that remark!  I did find my Caltracs, picked up a new pinion seal and got my 430lph pump mount and hotwire kit for it this past week...

To put the ECM behind the glove box, did you lengthen the harness?

Also, is there a way I can find out the Production year of my motor through the numbers on the ECM tag? I cant remember if it's a 02 or 03 and the pin outs are very much different.

No I used a Painless harness though and it has PLENTY of length...
If you scan the ECM it will have the year in it.

Still playing catch up from being off for the Holidays, but I got the 3.42 housing out from under the K5 and pulled it apart and replaced the pinion seal, and installed the Wilwood Calipers.  More pics and official posting coming.  Just needs to get warmer.. It was 9 this morning....

Saturday, December 28th, 2013: Took the 10 bolt that I swapped 12bolt 5 lug axles to out from under my K5 Blazer to get it ready to install.  Benefits: better gear ratio (3.42), limited slip (although its a gov-loc) and it will be equipped with disc brakes.

First order of business was to fix the huge leak at the front of the pinion.  I marked the pinion, nut and Yoke so I would know where everything was.  It was already loose so I planned to tighten it when done.  With a 1-1/4" socket and an impact it came off MUCH easier than expected.  Once off I pried the seal out and then using a guide I knocked it back into place and reinstalled the Yoke and gave it a little more.

With that out of the  way I pulled the cover to verify the gear ratio.  This came out of my 1989 K5 and you can tell this is original from the date.  Also note the 12 41 number indicating 3.42 gears

Sunday, December 29th, 2013: Pulled the pin retaining nut, removed the pin and pushed the axles in and removed the C-Clips then the axles and proceeded to remove the drum backing plates

This made room for the Captain Fab Disc conversion plates and supplied hardware.

Also being added are the Wilwood Dual D52 Calipers and pads along with Astro AWD rotors.  I only had time to do just one side though.

Saturday, January 11th, 2013: Due to my wifes foot surgery I had to pause on progress, but finally made it back out to finish up the discs.  Mounted the Caliper on the driver side and started on the passenger side

During this time I also picked up some 1972 C10 Front brake hoses and had some hose brackets made:

Now to the fun part.  All along I new there was a bolt broke off in the housing.  When I went to remove it I found that it wasn't a bolt but what appeared to be an EZ out.  I got a carbide bit about 1/4" in diameter and started grinding on it in hopes I would find the end.
