Title: white smoke
Post by: omar.b.saida on May 19, 2014, 07:35:36 AM
i have an 85 6.2 diesel and the guy i bought it from installed a turbo kit in it when it was rebuilt, it ran good for about a month but now when i start it up in the morning it pours white smoke out of the exhaust, but its not coolant because you can smell the diesel. and it doesn't run as good as it used to, it dies if i let off the throttle while its warming up. any suggestions

Is your glow plug system working?
Does the smoke clear up once the engine warms up?

could be coolant, unburnt fuel or oil in the turbo. need more info. coolant lever good? how bout oil? i would amost think by your description its only on cold start ups but need you to confirm this
