« on: August 18, 2014, 12:34:18 AM »
Just got stock of these and will be in the catalog soon.  They come complete as pictured and replace the existing lenses.  Have LED backup, Rapid fire brakes and sequential lights (can be turned off) 20 4 pin LEDs for stop and turn, 9 for sidemarker.  Comes with everything you need.
2 versions are offered.  Chrome trim $199.99 or no chrome trim $189.99

I will have a write up on these soon.

Interesting stuff.  Don't know how I feel about the rapid fire brake function though.

At one time I had started to attempt to build some custom LED lights for my Monte SS.  I was going to test on the SS and then make some for my truck.  Obviously never happened,  but this makes me want to revisit the issue...

Rapid fire and the sequential can be turned off on them.

Bake, many places make LED trailer light that can be adapted to stepsides. Not sure that they will be on the list.  I have however asked them to look into making them for the 73-80 fronts.

How does the brightness of these new lamps compare to the brightness of the other LED kit you sell?

that is built into these.  it is on the board for the LED's.  Flashers for the ambulances are another thing...

Where do you get the built in part?

Is that avail separately !

So I could add it to a existing light !

I want to convert the cargo lamp on the back of the cab to a third brake light and when you apply the brakes I want it to flash once or twice and then stay on.

No idea the company that designed them would have to answer that.  I am sure they won't give it up willingly though.

Capt;

How do these plug into the original socket?  Is there a pigtail on that bulb connector that has some slack for you to install it, or do you have to 'free' your truck side socket from the original 'reflector' housing?

Also...how is moisture managed in these lamps?  Is the LED and control board fully-potted?  Any water seals to resist water intrusion?

Thanks,

Erik

The original bulbs twist into the back panel.  The side marker is no longer used.  A loom runs across to the opposite side.
The rear panel is sealed against the lense just like the factory.
