Side exit exhaust. Anyone have this?
« on: September 11, 2015, 12:00:23 PM »
I'm need to cut off the rear half of my exhaust because it's rusted and full off holes, I can pick the rust off in chunks and it leaves a hole so it's time to upgrade a little. Anyone have pics of their side exit exhaust setups?!

here is mine. 2 1/2 inch pipes.

i used a 90 degree elbow to point out the side and i used a bolt hole in the spring hangers to mount the exhaust hangers.

the other side clears the fuel tank no problem

I know this topic is old. But instead of starting a new thread I thought I'd add on to this. What would you guys recommend for space clearance between fuel tank and exhaust tip?
I have a '86 c3500 cab and chassis. my exhaust is all rotted out too and I'm wanting to either do dual side exhaust or 45 dump in front of the rear axle. Just don't want to run the exhaust too close to the dual fuel tanks

On my 86 I ran my tips probably about a inch under the tanks. Now these were 5 or 6" tips

Here the set up I've always had.  Once with converters.  I just had the exhaust redone minus converters.
