VileZambonie:
Later Herbie  :P

bd:
Mine was a shell white '69 Beetle, 1835cc, running dual 44 IDFs on large valve heads, Scat crank, lightened flywheel, and a highly reworked close-ratio transaxle shifted by a custom-tailored and shortened Hurst.  I spent a lot of time airborne in that thing before I came to my senses and sold it.  That car was a blast!  But, I drift too far off topic.

VileZambonie:
The best part about any vehicle is the memories.

JohnnyPopper:
What about the ones you wish you could forget?

bd, always sensed that you were a wild man back in the day!

Is there a feminine version for "Herbie" Carmen? It was a find locally, from the gal that bought her new in '66. Took two years to clean her up and find original parts to replace rusted ones. Beach baby. She won "Best Stock" in a show last October.

Her owners were educator and it was part of their estate donation to the University.

I think cars of that era and make take us back to a time when the world was more sane... ;D
