Mystery Wire?

(1/6) > >>

76_Scottsdale:
When I had my tranny out and I was cleaning up the back of the block, I noticed a single blueish/greenish wire with a single rubber covered female spade connector that comes out of the harness going behind the block. It is part of the stock harness so I thought it must be the oil pressure wire, but when I searched the forum here I found pics of a sending unit right next to the distributor and I don't have one like that. The wire looks like it is just the right length to connect somewhere on the block close to the distributor. I've never had problems with my oil pressure gauge before, so if this is the wire I must've accidently unhooked it. Does anyone know where this wire goes? My truck is a 76 K20 with a 350 and it has an oil pressure gauge, not a light. Thanks again.

VileZambonie:
Sounds like the heater blower connector. Got a pic?

76_Scottsdale:
Yeah it's a little dark in my shop but I'll try to snap a pic.

76_Scottsdale:
Well no pic but it's not the blower wire.

VileZambonie:
What trans do you have? If you have a TH400 a similar connector goes to the detent solenoid. Was the truck ever equipped with a TH400?
