Bucket Seat Trouble
« on: September 02, 2008, 07:18:53 PM »
1977 Chevy Crew Cab Bucket Seat Saga continues...

Last week I picked up some bucket seat tracks from a '89 Suburban for cheap including the front inner mounting feet.  Got home and tried to bolt up the brackets to my Hi-Back seats (from '78 Blazer) and nothing lined up like I thought it might  >:(

So do I need to try and find bucket seat bracket/tracks from an older Suburban with the Hi-back style seat?  Or are the Blazer/Jimmy bucket seats not gonna work period?  Thanks!

In 84, the bucket seats changed in the Suburban to a reclining seat with armrests.
In 87 the bucket seats on the Blazer/Jimmy changed to a top and slide setup.  The 2 share the same mount spacing AFAIK.
Pre 77-87 hi back buckets from a Blazer/Jimmy are going to be the same seat as a 77-84 bucket for a Suburban.

If you were able to get the seat tracks from the 89 Burb were you not able to get the seats also?

I was able to get the other seats, but I really like the hi-back style better ;)

The Burb should have been High backs also, just with armrests.
