Electric or manual choke?
« on: December 22, 2006, 11:47:00 AM »
Hey guys,

The truck currently has a manual choke on it, but i was wondering if re-connecting the electric would be better....? :\

The guy that owned the truck before me had it switched over to manual.

I don't think it would change anything in idle or vacuum would it? I would need it to pump (for the septic tanks).

Somebody told me i'd get better MPG...true?

Thanks!

You would not get better fuel economy. An electric choke should be wired off of the oil press switch so it starts to heat up once the engine is actually running. Then once it's open it's open. It's just more convenient and less problematic than a hokey cable setup.
