Adjusting the A/C-Heater Temperature Control Cable:

Referring to the diagram...
  • Remove the glove box door assembly.

  • Loosen (do not remove) the temperature control cable attachment screw (#241) located on top of the heater core case (VIEW B).

  • Make sure the temperature control cable (#240) is properly installed and retained at both ends (#242) with its spring ferrule fully seated in the yoke of the cable bracket (VIEW B).

  • Slide the temperature control knob on the dash control panel (#243) all the way to the COLD position and hold it there, forcing the cable firmly against the temperature door lever (#244), compressing the cable spring.

  • Tighten the temperature control cable attachment screw (#241).

  • Reinstall the glove box door assembly.

It's difficult to know just how much you don't know until you know it.
In other words... if people learn by making mistakes, by now I should know just about everything!!!
