Good quality gas tank

(1/1)

BigMike84:
Hi everyone, The old gas tank on my son's 84 K10 has finally given out and sprung a small leak. It was on our list to replace anyway, we'll just be doing it sooner now 😁. I was planning on replacing the entire tank, and the straps as part of them are literally rotting away.  I was also just going to put a whole new sending unit in while we had it off of the truck, as I'm sure it's probably pretty rough. We were just wanting some suggestions as to where to purchase good quality parts for this project?

I bought a single holley saddle tank with embedded fuel pump (no messing around with dual tanks). Replaced the rusted out hangers. I would have preferred installing a large tank behind the axle, but there's a nice large home welded trailer hitch I decided to keep.

Just remember to install all the wires before installing the tank. Just sayin.

It starts and runs. One of these years I'll get it on the road and see how it works.
