'85 full size rear end problems
« on: September 18, 2012, 05:21:15 PM »
I almost have my '85 paid off from a friend, and I'm ready to go pick it up.  From what I know, it drives fine in reverse, but when in forward, the right rear wheel won't spin.  It is a 4 wheel drive, by the way.

It won't spin as in the engine can't make the wheel turn. Or it won't turn as in it locked up?

If it has sat a while the drum may have rusted up

Welcome to the site from Central California!

Any noises coming from the rear?

If it has sat a while the drum may have rusted up

This ^^^^^

Or, might be that one brake is adjusted a little too tight.  Pull the drums to inspect the brakes, clean up the drums if needed, then adjust them on both sides.

It's difficult to know just how much you don't know until you know it.
In other words... if people learn by making mistakes, by now I should know just about everything!!!
