'91 G30 van seats in '83 Scottsdale

Now that I have my powertrain "upgraded", it's time to work on the interior. The stock vinyl bench seat is very torn on the driver's side (naturally) and most of the stuffing is gone. Rather than just put a seat cover on it and forget it, I found a set of bucket seats out of a '91 GMC Vandura. Will these fit without major modifications? I would really like to install them without having to go in from the underside, so I don't have to drop the gas tank.

You are going to have to fabricate something.  If it were me, I would unbolt the slide from the seat and re-install them in the truck.  I would get some square tubing and attach side to side and build up from there.

     You should also consider the height of the seats.  Like Zieg said, start at bottom and build something, you just have to be careful that it does not get too high for your liking.

Off topic but what was the most luxurious of all those 90's vans? I've always wanted one cause they're so dang comfortable.

Of the mass production vans, the GMC Vandura and Chevy Beauville were the fancy ones. Still, most of them were set up as 12-15 passenger vans. The really nice ones were conversion packages like the Gladiator and Explorer. These were 40-50k (in 1990s dollars), while the production vans were considerably less.

Some of those conversion van seats were more comfortable than my Lazyboy but they didn't hold up well as they aged, (At least the ones I have seen over 100K).   I have seen a lot of variation with the different conversion companies and I am sure I probably just saw the low end versions.
