How to: Adjusting the A/C-Heater Temperature Control Cable (All Years)

Adjusting the A/C-Heater Temperature Control Cable:

Referring to the diagram...

* Remove the glove box door assembly.


* Loosen (do not remove) the temperature control cable attachment screw (#241) located on top of the heater core case (VIEW B).


* Make sure the temperature control cable (#240) is properly installed and retained at both ends (#242) with its spring ferrule fully seated in the yoke of the cable bracket (VIEW B).


* Slide the temperature control knob on the dash control panel (#243) all the way to the COLD position and hold it there, forcing the cable firmly against the temperature door lever (#244), compressing the cable spring.


* Tighten the temperature control cable attachment screw (#241).


* Reinstall the glove box door assembly.
