The Trick for non-squeaky Windshield Wipers.

Hey guys.
What's the trick?
Expensive blades?
Super clean glass?
Wax or RainX on the glass?
I have good blades, two years old, but hardly used.
Windshield is clean and coated with RainX, but they still squeak on the glass when it rains.
I was gonna shell out $30 per blade at PepBoys, but was recommended to try a wax for $10 first.
Any thoughts?

Hi,
the cause can be the angle how the rubber stands to the window.
Let the wiper run half way and then look at the angle. Optimal is 90 degres.
Regards

It's the wiper transmission, not the blades. Clean and lubricated the ball studs.

It can also be the spring tension in the wiper arms.

Thanks guys.
Chris and ehjorten - thank you. Great points.
Vile - I cleaned these a few wings ago with a wire brush and scotch pad. Added some black grease before reinstalling too.
I did try the wax on the window trick and it worked like a charm.
My blades are a few years old, but they have almost zero mileage on em out here in Los Angeles.
I'll stick with the wax idea for now - invest in some good blades next time.

Just to circle back on this as a tip to others.
The wax is doing the trick just great - especially with all the recent rain we've had here in LA.
But, there's also a lot of smog in LA which likes to add a fine dust to your clean glass.
Rather than wiping it clean (hence, wiping the wax off) I've picked up a static cloth brush that I use to once over the glass and it's been working quite nicely
to keep it clean, keep it waxed and to keep the wipers nice and quiet.
(I'll still pick up nicer blades in the future, but my current budget doesn't allow me to drop $60 on wiper blades at the moment.)
