Very nice with wonderful attention to details.  Truly, a proud endeavor that is clearly evident in your workmanship!

Have you considered the stainless dual exhaust sold through the site store?

THanks for the reply!

I have looked at the ones in the store.  They are made by Pypes.  I'm nit picking a bit but they are 409 stainless instead of 304.  I plan on giving this truck to my daughter one day (if she wants it) and the 304 should live as long as the truck.  The 409 will last for at least 10 years, but more surface rust and discoloration.  If I dont go with Stainless Works i'll buy from the page store for sure!  I do like the X pipe configuration of the Pypes over 2 separate pipes of the Stainless Works, but in a perfect world I'd get the H pipe for the low end torque.

Tires and a new steering wheel are inbound.  After that it will just be a matter of finding the exhaust.  Going to do some street tuning with the Purple Hornies for the time being.  Not what i want long term, but gets it on the street sooner.

Tires are installed.  Installed a new washer motor as the old one lost home position and we could not source the home switch.  I pulled the trigger on the Blackheart exhaust after talking to a Holley rep.  The exhaust will fit but the hangers have to be moved to fit the HD springs.  We did a mock up and made brackets that moved the brackets about 7" back.  It worked fine on the driver's side but hit a bracket for the brakes on the passenger side.  The bracket extensions will need to be shortened 3" to fit.  That will be next time....

Went out and worked on the truck this weekend.  We made progress on the exhaust, but there is more to be done.  the brakets being moved back 3" prevented the exhaust from hitting the brake line bracket, but also puts it fairly close to the suspension.

We did a test fit of the full kit and aside from hw close the rear springs are everything else looks good.   With the exhaust in the center of the truck and everything hanging as it should it does not line up with the headers.  The headers are about 2-3 inches off center to the passenger side.  Not sure if this is a design flaw, intentional, or some manufacturing issue, but it will need to be compensated for.  It will go to an exhaust shop to get the custom collectors made.

We will also have to install the heat sheilds, and bend the middle brackets down a bit; it seems to be about an 1" off.

I also put the wheels on this weekend.  in preparation for some road test and tuning.  Next visit will be a light bath and it will get driven for the first time in over 20 years!

We did finish up the exhaust.  Also got the fender emblems in from Classic Industries.  Still waiting on the new (replica) steering wheel.
