Yeah, I am looking for either a 6.2L or 6.5L, so either would do....

FYI, I just picked up the CUCV 6.2L diesel for this along with the complete wiring harness.  I also ordered the floor pans for it and the Jimmy.

Sunday, June 7th, 2009: In talks with acquiring a used banks turbo kit.  Waiting for the total for shipping.

Friday, June 12th, 2009:Picked up a power window motor and replaced it only to find the battery completely DEAD so it is on charge now.

Got back on this during Thanksgiving vacation after a long hiatus

Friday, Nov 26th, 2010:Started pulling parts to get the 350 out, pulled the A/C, Power Steering, wiring, hoses and radiator.
Saturday, Nov 27th, 2010:removed the exhaust, trans inspection plate, braces, and t-case brace and torque converter bolts.
Sunday, Nov 28th, 2010:Supported the trans, disconnected the supply/return fuel hoses, pulled out the hoist and found it wouldn't go up high enough, so I pulled the valve cores out to get the motor free.  As of last night the 350 is out.
Monday, Nov 29th, 2010:Sourcing a new converter, 12V starter so I can drop the 6.2L in.  Hope to get it cleaned up and see if it needs new gaskets this week/weekend.

Thursday, Dec 2nd, 2010:Got a new diesel converter
Saturday, Dec 11th, 2010:moved the 6.2L to the house and started cleaning it up.  Ran out of daylight.  Looks like I need to replace at least the valvecover gasket on the passenger side.

Sunday, Jan 30th, 2011: Got the 6.2L dropped back in the truck yesterday evening.  Still have top 2 bolts in the Trans to bolt up, along with starter.

Anyone got some tips on retro-ing the wiring harness on this thing.  I actually have most of the donor wiring harness but if anyone has done this before I would love some feedback.  I hate wiring...

February 11, 2011: Vile sent me some AC Diesel brackets for the truck to be tolerable in the heat.

Also purchased a drivers side Battery box sometime this summer from GM.

Oct 22, 2011: Sometime in the past I put the starter on but neglected putting the engine bolts on.  So today I pulled the started BACK off and put the bolts in and then put the starter back on.

I also pulled the Gasser harness out and I am currently verifying that the CUCV harness I got from the 6.2L donor will work with the the 1985 harness.  I still need to remove the 24V circuits, but hopefully I can make what I have work with little modifications.  So far it looks ok, but I really would like a Civilian harness diagram to compare what I have to.

CUCV on the top above broom handle, Gas below...

In addition I started figuring out how the AC hooks up.  I found how the Brackets Vile sent work, but it appears I need another bracket that goes to the front of the head as mine has the povision for the second alternator.  Anyone have pics on this?  Vile, do you happen to have the other bracket?

I am confident that the wide bracket bolts to the intake on the 2 studs pictured, and the lower bracket got to the exhaust, but the front I don't have.

I know I posted pix of the bracket set up in another thread for someone. It was a while back. I'll see what I can find.
