I don't know what to go with as far as a cam for towing/smog, but I can tell you that you definately need springs to match the cam.  Beehives are the common spring on the Gen3 platform.

I was based out of TQ both times. The second tour, my platoon traveled all over. We were "TAD" to Al Asad, Rawah, and two different FARPs (San Francisco and Milwalkee) in support of Op Dan. Both of those were in the Ninawa Provence about 20 mi southwest of Hatra. Hatra is a historic area, so it was cool to see.

So I just unloaded the goods into my garage and let me tell you if you have a level driveway you are lucky...lol.  Looks to be pretty clean and i got everything from the PCM bracket to the fuse block.  I didnt know that the 01 tahoe had a 0411 PCM and DBW TB but i am not going to complain.  I got a bunch of what looks to be frame coolers on everything must be since this had a tow package.  Works good for me as my truck will be a tow pig as well.

Also there is oil coming out of the throttle body??  How would it get up there isnt the lifter valley blocked off?

EDIT- I forgot to mention this vehicle was  a rollover so maybe the oil is from the crankcase venting into the throttlebody?

well the only thing that i dont see is the MAF sensor right now i will know in a few weeks what i have and dont have when i go to put it in.  The guy i got it from said to come back to get any little stuff i find that i dont have.  Pretty good deal for me.  This tahoe must have had a new motor put in or there are less than the 80k he told there was on it.

so i apparently have the DBW throttle body but i didnt get the pedal or the TAC module.  How hard will this be to get working without the originals?  Can i just get those modules together and it will still work?

It can be done without them, it will just be easier with them.

Or you can use a cable operated throttle body

A tr220 cam with matching springs and a i6 trailblazer torque converter would be a nice combo. I was gona run my 03 yukon like that but i decided to jump up to the tr224 cam.looks to be a fun project hopefully ill do a 5.3 swap in my 86 someday

Ok well i Got the missing MAF sensor and the Tac module and pedal assembly today.  Will it hurt that the harness from the pedal to the tac module was cut?  I can just extend the wires right?  It doesnt have serial lines or anything that need to be a specific length?

I am going out now to finish pulling the harness off and strip down the drivers side of the motor.  Hopefully tonight i can tear into the harness and figure out what needs to stay and go.

you should be able to extend them.
