When I was in high school a friend of mine, his Dad had one very close to this, same colors not as many options. It had an open diff out back but at 30 mph you could mash the gas and that right rear would come to life! His Dad would never let him drive it (turns out he had good reason) one weekend his parents were out of town and we found the keys, Friday was all good but by Saturday he was feeling brave and decided to race a couple of friends. We were doing pretty good but on the last one I remember thinking this thing is screamin, by then the 1/4 mile had passed and he said oh crap it was in 2ND the whole time! Well, we found the breaking point of that 454, as soon as those words came out his mouth it died and wouldn't even turn over, the lights would dim a little but that was it, nothing! I guess the 9,000 rpm (it seemed like anyway) was way to much, none of us saw much of him for a while after that. I heard his Dad sold it "as is" a couple months later.
