That is hilarious, the Bay area freaks would love that around here.  LOL

Well tackled my plugs/wires/headers issue today. She must have wanted new plug wires, because she's running even better now. Still not fast by any means, but a lot smoother.

Passenger side header off, decided to replace the dragging sluggish starter while I was in there. Went with a GM # 6449. Half the weight, half size, twice power. Still needs a heat shield for that. Accel super stock wires are too long and too yellow! Should have went with MSD. LOL.

Also put some heat shield tape around the starter wires. One of the plastic doohickeys melted a little, but not all the way through. Only had two straight plug boots so I put heat sleeves on them. Will get some online for the 90° boots soon.

So much for Taiwanese tools.

Much more clearance from the Accel shorty plugs.

Also scuffed and sprayed a little green before the monsoon of rain hit. I'm diggin' it a lot more than the flat black thing.

Your right, the green looks way better than the flat black.  Is that the color you are going with ?

Yep. For the body anyway. Black rhino liner for the floor and tan interior bits is the plan stan.

The cheaper accel wires do not seem much better than stock wires

Well I don't think id see much difference with stock ignition anyway. That's why I've been thinking of simple Taylor kit. Not trying to build a dragster out of it anyway. This junky Accel kit will probably last longer than my desire to build the truck anyway LOL!

Well didn't get much done this week. I did however pick this up for $25. I see a shaggin wagon Chevy van in this truck's future. (Been wanting a 70s Chevy van for a good long while now, so when I'm done with the truck and when I sell my Yamaha chopper, a van it is.)

:)

Thanks man. I think it'll turn out decent when I'm finished.

The vans are getting harder to come by everywhere. all the scrap yards have gone crusher crazy too so the parts are tough to find as well. I'll find one though.

Junkyard hopping again today. Scored a stock steering wheel, 1 15x8" Rally rim to match the others and use for a spare, and one nasty cracked dash pad that I may recover. Still undecided. Need to finish spraying the green soon. I did manage to get the heat shield on the starter yesterday and fixed the bolt issue. Running great.

Thanks. I think it looks a world different, but still a long way to go to get her to where I want to be with it.
