1977 C10 project
« on: March 01, 2021, 09:00:16 PM »
Hi Guys, I always wanted a hot rod street truck.  I came upon this 77 c10 for a great bargain.  It’s a 350/350.  I then ended up getting a sbc400 for dirt cheap.

Here’s a pic the day I brought it home.

The bed was badly rotted, although tough to tell from the pics.  The rear drums were basically rotted.  The brake lines were rotted.  Parts of the floor, rockers, cab corners, and bottom of doors were rotted.
Luckily, the frame was in pretty good shape.

I had the 400 rebuilt.  Now it’s a 406 with nice aluminum heads (I know it’s blasphemy to some guys), a roller cam, and some bells and whistles.

I replaced the inner/outer rockers, cab supports, cab corners, sections of cab floor, rear springs, fuel tank, etc...
Current pics-

Still a lot more work to do...

Welcome from SoCal San Diego!

Looks like quite a project there but you're getting a nice jump on it!

Keep the progress reports coming, I think we all find it inspiring to keep our own projects moving forward.

In fact, it's going to rain today, I think I'll move mine a few inches.

Just got the windshield removed so I can fix a rust spot... ;)

Great project! It will keep you busy but will be yours.

Will you put in a different transmission to go behind that new motor?
