Running lights - Base/Gaskets?

IdahoMan:
My roof lights, the rubber is getting kind of dry. What's a source of good, non-chinese base/gaskets? It's a 1981 Silverado. (I've got some brand new lenses that are made in US if you can believe it)

Also, is there a safe type of sealant that can go on between the paint (or in my case, RaptorLiner) and the gasket for good measure? Some kind of silicone or something that can be removed later without harming the body or the rubber?

Not sure about gaskets, but for sealer I would go to a Lowes or hardware store and get some caulk in a tube. I recommend black color that will clean up with water before it dries (not silicone). I used some stuff like that for weatherstripping on a Camaro and was pretty happy with it. Water cleanup made it easy to wipe excess off the paint with a damp towel.

I may just have to!

Or maybe put Vaseline on the joining parts and press RTV Right Stuff gasket-marker in-between them and form a gasket?
