Those rotors look like they should be a bit more resillient to cracking, the ones I've seen crack have the holes spaced ~3/8-1/2" apart, I've heard of wider spaces cracking, but never seen it, so I imagine it comes from extreme heat buildup and rapid cooling, like running through a puddle.

craftsman motorcycle floor jack, my ol man has a full dresser motorcycle and he uses it for his oil changes and such.

correct me if i am wrong here ........  on the first picture of this thread the rear axle shoes as if you change to disk brakes. am i correct?

if so what donor difeerential did u use?

1st pic you see is a rear drum setup w/o the drums on it.I was told a lincoln versailles rearend works well with these trucks.You can also upgrade it to a explorer setup too.

The Caddy De Ville will also work if you make the brackets, the disc uses the same bolt pattern.  You can use the whole diff if you wanted.  BTW, since most everyone with these trucks knows this, you ususally can't find these in the salvage yards, at least not here.

I think it was 77-79 that had the 5 on 5 disc setup.  I know it started in 1977, just not sure of the ending year.

I got all my parts finally, i took the old calipers to the local parts store for core charges, the guy behind the counter said"oh there gonna have some fun rebuliding these)I told him they were factory 1980 calipers and they seen the better part of the new england weather.But i got my rotors in the other day, got my wheel bearings, got the new dust caps, calipers, and some caliper paint so this weekend if it isnt to to cold i`ll paint them and the new dust shields and install them and FINALLY make this truck a roller.Now i just gotta degrease the steering box and paint it a natural gray color finish.But i`ll take pics of the parts and the before and after .

77-96 Fullsize RWD D-bodied Caddies(Fleetwood/Broughams/Coupe Devilles) shared the majority of Chassis(Caddies had the longest chassis length of the family, with Buick right behind them body wise),suspension, and brake pieces with Fullsize RWD B-body Chevys(77-96 Caprice/Impala(Forgot the break in their years, so I'll post later)/Impala SS(94-96)/Buicks/Oldsmobiles/Pontiac's all with the 5 on 5 patterns.   I'll post the BOP years later when I get home.....

Don't see why it wouldn't be too difficult to use B/D body pieces for the Rear Disc swaps, but that's just me....

Not all B-bodies had 5x5, only those with the HD suspension, as far as I know the C-bodies followed this also.  90% of the kits sold use Caddy calipers.
