Looks great! I'm looking forward to seeing the firewall mod when it is all put together. That took some guts to do that mod on a cab that nice.
Is that a painless kit sitting in the truck?

A spot on the firewall got nicked ;(
That sucks, but at least it was minor.

Your project is looking really great VileZambonie !!
You are putting lots of attention to detail.
I haven't read through your whole thread completely but the stage you are at now is incredible.  Will you be taking the truck to car shows?
Are you doing all the paint work yourself? It looks super nice.
Keep up the great work and I look forward to more pictures as you complete projects.

Yes, It's a painless wiring harness which I must say I am not very impressed with. It's very universal/generic from what I was expecting but I would have had to cut it up quite a bit regardless since nothing is where it used to be in regards to the wiring harness.

I could have touched up that spot on the firewall because it's behind the booster anyway but I know it's there and my goal is to have a smooth slick looking engine bay and I'd like to keep it that way.

I am doing all of the paint work in my shop. Yes it uses a lot more material and time this way but I wanted to be certain that it would look the way I wanted when complete. I'm not a car show junkie but I'm sure it'll make its way into a few ;)

I hope so! I decided today to get healthier so I'm going to work out every night instead of working in my garage and drinking beer all the time. lol Who knows, maybe that'll speed up process!

^^ sounds like a good idea, i mean, is the gym in the garage? that could help! i stock my shop fridge with water only.. even soda is horrible to keep around.

Good luck, its looking amazing, if my collaboration ends up even being half as clean and shiny as your truck i will be happy.
The Right Stuff Master and Booster? that was going to be my purchase hadnt i decided against stock pedals

Vile, when you posted in another thread about your drop down battery box http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/smforum/index.php/topic,10766.msg191781.html#msg191781 I went back and looked at yours.
What did you use too protect your B+ cable from chafing where you went through the frame with it? Was it just a rubber bushing or was it something unique? Just wondering if there was something better that you found to use. Also where do you plan on mounting the remote jump start terminals?

thirsty,

The cable has a very thick jacket on it, nevertheless I used that really thick shrink tubing in the pass throughs to protect from rubbing/vibration chafing. The holes are also chamfered and deburred and have a rubber grommet. The remote terminals will be stealth and pretty slick -don't really want to reveal all those details yet ;)

I knew you didn't just run it through the hole. Not you and especially not on the 74!

The 74 GMC has come a long way, does not even look close to that any more.

I know - Finished up the rear end. Don't mind the exhaust, it's just mocked up so I can take it apart again to send to get coated.
