Ok...here is why I was not to worried about messing with the wiring...not real easy on the eyes.  Best thing this truck has going for it is the box and original floor.  Some of the wood is getting bad, but it is in good shape.

I agree looks like a Solid Truck to start with, and I'm sure the plow comes in handy ;D  Am I understanding you correctly, are you saying it has a wood floor in the bed  :o  If so, any pics of how it looks back there ??? I have been thinking about doing that to mine, but haven't seen a Fleetside new than '70 that had one....

Hey, Dragon.  Yes...it has a wood floor.  Cant be certain if its original or not as it was that way when I bought it back in 2000.  As soon as the snow thaws out of the back...I'd be glad to snap a few pics and post or e-mail them to ya.

Thanks for the comments...makes an old truck feel better!!  Later.

Wood beds were an option on these trucks, so it isn't out of place.

Sounds Good, and I would definitely appreciate seeing the pics when you get a chance! E-mailing or posting is alright by me, but posting would give you more of an opertunity to hear others positive comments to help keep you motivated with it ;)

No Problem with the comments, but with it being a '74, it's not that old of a truck!! heck I'm two years newer myself, but I'm always get reminded as to what kind of a youngen I am age wise!! ;D Funny those that tell me that, usually ain't that much older than your truck ???

Didn't not know that! I thought that the option was discontinued with the Fleetsides in '72, due to the lack of interest, and availability of the steel floor...  Personally I have aways wanted a truck with a Wood Bed, and My Girlfriend likes the idea too, but I have been leary of the up-keep....  I know if I install one, I would have a Serious OCD with coating the bottom under bed sheetmetal, along with weather treating the boards so that they would never rot as well!!
