So the previous owner "customized" my '80 Silverado by painting the grill and headlight surrounds black (photo attached).
I've been able to get most of the black off of the metal parts with acetone, but the grill is plastic (and apparently missing the bowtie insert) so I know I'm going to have to use something else. I've read a lot of things saying brake fluid will work for this, is that right?
I assume if I use brake fluid to take off the black spray paint, it'll also take off all of the other paint? What brand/color is closest to factory? I know the rectangle headlight '80 front end is kind of a one-off so I don't want to damage it, but I also want to get it to at least reasonably resemble stock.
