I just got my engine in my 1989 F-150 with a 300 inline 6 and a 4 speed. Ran great too, but too expensive to play with and break. So, I traded it for a two owner 1978 chevy K-10 shortbed. It runs good and has a 350, 3.42 posi front and rear axles, and a rebuilt trans and NP203 with part time kit installed. The bed is rough as are inner fenders, but the rest is good. It has 15x12 rims and 33x12.50 new super swampers and a new 4" lift. The engine is from who knows what, but it runs well and came with a nice Carter AFB Competition series carb. That thing is the same weber job as an edelbrock but it has a few extra vacuum ports and outruns any edeljunk I've ever dealt with. Guess I'll skip swapping a Q-jet onto it.

Well, the trade lasted about two days. He bought the 78 14 years ago asa frame, trans, axles, and cab and rebuilt her from the ground up. I did the same when I built my for a year ago. He told me that he knew I liked the 78, but that he was hoping I might consider selling or trading it back to him. Niether of us had taken the titles in yet and I understand his feelings, so I agreed and we traded back. I could not bring myself to tell him no and claim as my own a truck that he spent 14 years building. But, I still have my 87 chevy 4x2.
