Not to be a jerk, But Captkaos is wrong . 3/4 ton 4x4 's do exist .  you cant get more proof then the VIN and RPO code sticker

Capt. only said in all his research that he never found 3/4 4x4 crew cabs, I am sure he was only stating what information he had.  After this started, I found a 75 crew 4x4 single axle on CL, had to check it out.  The vin# said it was a 75, yellow k20 showed pics of his vin# and it confirms.
No one is perfect or all knowing, I am sure Capt. is trying to find more info, but to his defense, he said he did look throughly and never found evidence of any except 2wd.
So lesson learned, no one is perfect, but pholliday1 you are right, this site is excellent for correct information and I think most people have come to expect correctness here.

Oh I know thats why I said that I dont mean to be a jerk, GM did alot or weird things over the years,  I've learned you have to say "usually" when dealing with these trucks

Based on the information you have posted, I stand behind my original statement that 3/4T 4x4s don't exist  as far as general population availability.  Now GM having a 3/4T 2WD Crew converted to 4x4 for a specific market prior to the 1 ton 4x4 crews being available the following year, definitely, as that is what you have.  GM didn't make an extended cab either, but they licensed other companies to make them, so they exist.

Reasearh really has never been my favorite thing I must admit, however with that being said this 3/4 ton crewcab mystery has me curious. There is an answer out there some where. Capt with that being said do you have any guidance on further pursuing this and in which direction would be best?

Read my other post, yellowk20's RPO clearly shows the model number as a 3/4 Ton Crew Cab 2WD (CC20963).

Based on the Option listing it specifies 4x4 Crew Cab.  Based on that information, it was definitely a 4x2 that GM made a 4x4 in 1976 in 4x4 form.  So GM made special order 3/4T 2WD Crew Cabs and converted them to 4x4.  When the 1T came out in 4x4 form, why make a 3/4T version?

IF it were an actual 4x4 3/4 Ton Crew the model number would have been CK20963, which they didn't make they only made the 1T model CK30943.
