1985 C30 Dual Tanks, Only 1 works

New to the forum and looking for a little guidance (or maybe a schematic).  My 85 C30 I recently purchased runs off from the right side tank only.  The previous owner installed a new switch in the dash as well as a new valve under the truck (he also gave me the one that he took off).  I replaced the switch in the dash also since it felt like it was broken.  While I had it out, I checked for any voltage on any of the wires and did not have any.  I'm not sure what wires are supposed to have power (or ground) when without a schematic. I have checked the fuses and all fuses are good.  All I know is if I attempt to switch to the left side tank nothing changes (gas gauge, etc) so I know that it's not working.  Any assistance with a schematic and/or where to start looking would be greatly appreciated
