Views: 31 | Comments: 2 Hello square body world, just read treads on 454 and carbs. Now questioning myself on whether to do EFI swap. Just acquired 86' c30 dually long bed 454 manual trany, and removed the SM465 for a NV4500. The most weight I will ever pull with this truck is 8500lbs. My next move was EFI and lower gear ratio for fuel economy and performance. This motor has not been touched, and even has the smog pumps still on it and working. 192,000 original miles. I know some of you will be heartbroken for me molesting this truck and deep down it would be nice to restore to its original condition, but I need a driver not a garage queen. So, am I on the right track with this build? May 27, 2022, 06:46:25 PM by chuckler3 | Views: 14 | Comments: 0
Also.. Replacing all brake hardware from booster to softlines. Planning on just doing booster/master from box store down the street, but getting the full, pre-bent hardlines from and the proportioning valve from Carolina Classic Trucks. Any alternatives or recommendations in that regard? stainless lines to the wheels and new front wheel cylinders and rotors recently done. Pretty sure the brake fluid in there is from the production line. May 27, 2022, 06:06:02 PM by chuckler3 | Views: 22 | Comments: 0
Posted this elsewhere, but need a sanity check: Old, dirty saddle tanks are coming out and I'm leaning towards the 31 gallon Blazer tank to go with a Sniper EFI swap. This is also going to coincide with new brake lines Two tank options I'm looking at currently: https://www.classicindustries.com/product/1983/chevrolet/truck/parts/ft5018a.html https://www.efisystempro.com/efi-fuel-tank-1982-87-chevy-blazer-tm15b-t-kit I'm still sorting through the particulars/odds/ends but am currently planning on pulling the bed in the coming weeks and starting the teardown. Is there a Holley-specific pump/sending unit I should be considering with the non-efi tank from Classic? Are either of those tank options better than the other? Sanity/idiot check? Okay guys I need some help with knowing what’s compatible, I have a th400 4wd trans bolted up to a np203 and I want to swap in a np205 but the adapters are big $$ from what I hear. So I found a th400/np205 adapter for a good price and it looks more like a th350 adapter. Will this still work for a 400? Also would like to upgrade to a 4l80e in the future and I hear that same adapter is what I need. I will try to post a pic but it never cooperates for me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk May 19, 2022, 05:22:50 PM by Fastduramax
