Hello, I'm in the begining stages of a ls swap on my newly acquired swb. Looks like a few people have done this or are in the process of. I'm trying to keep it simple, 6.0,.706 casting aluminum heads, od trans, and fuel injection. O ya and a cam of course. How do these trucks run? Any sujestions on engine mounts/ plates? Headsets or cast manifolds? Thanks for the input ;D

Mounts: Dirty Dingo, Transdapt, Street and performance all of them will work.
Headers,
I know they 3/4 ones from Headman Hustler work.
These are Headman offerings: http://www.brphotrods.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=BRP&Category_Code=CNV10 (http://www.brphotrods.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=BRP&Category_Code=CNV10)

Patriot just came out with some part number H8087
LS1/LS6 “Clipster” style header for the popular 1973-87 Chevrolet C-10 pickups. Header part number H8087 uses longer 1 3/4” primary tubes,
I am using Street and Performace on my Twin Turbo truck.
Hooker has manifolds,

I've got an '86 C10, what kind of rear axle ratio do you have?

Mine currently has 2.76 gears, have a 3.42 to go in it.

Not sure of my gears I plan on doing a 12 bolt with 3.54. I plan on doing at least a 4"/6" drop so ground clearance is a must. Anyone used the plates with the stock small block clam mounts?
-
I am using S&P plates with SBC shells and I have another set that I plan to use.

I'm running the TH400 with 2.73 gears. Lopey takeoff but excellent on the highway. I really wanted to put a 700R4 in there because I had a 3.73 to go in it, but then I'd be right back where I started, just with better takeoff which didn't matter for me..

Where do you get the S&P plates from?
-
http://hotrodlane.cc/ is Street & Performance.
I would just pick up some Transdapt plates: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/trd-4572
