The new one will this fit and work? its form a 1989 chevy with a 350 also

So what is your question? Is the compressor not engaging? Air too warm? Leak?

Looks like the belt will track and it would more than likely work.Just don't know what that lump on the front of the pulley does.
Must be a newer improved clutch.

Yeah, that lump in front is the clutch mechanisms....if it doesnt engage, sometimes a tap on the front of that will engage it...if it is a clutch problem. I believe the last pic is of an older type.

Hey Del.You missed 1 sentence between the photos.The bottom is from an 89 and the top one (an 87 is toast).He needs to know if the newer one will work as in: proper size for his 87 system,lines hooking up,charge type........

Yeah, it should work...if the bolt holding the two lines in back bolts into the compressor, and the mounting brackets fit....go for it.

make sure you prime the compressor....w/ the correct oil...i use the dyed stuff --easy to see leaks.
