My transfer case looks like the first picture on the link below...except the speedo cable comes out on the passenger side, not the driver side like in the picture. Is it just a different year? Also, Im almost positive the shift pattern is different. I dont believe mine has 2wd L like the pic shows. That is just assuming "Loc" is 4wd. Finally, I dont think mine is full time 4wd because it has manual hubs. Can anyone offer insight?????

I looked around those two links, didnt find much help. Also, I found a Off-road.com article that stated NP203 use 10w-40. I really dont think they meant to put that. http://www.off-road.com/trucks4x4/article/articleDetail.jsp?id=199953 I wish I lived closer to some shops that actually work on this stuff and custom stuff...

Post a pic of your transfer case. Np203 uses 10w30 or 10w40 in the T-case.

OK thats what I thought. I know they are fulltime 4wd, but I dont really understand what that is. Does having manual hubs vs non manual hubs make a difference? Also, I dont think the shift pattern is what I have read about. I read that a 203 is Hi Loc, Hi, N, Low, Low Loc. The truck doesnt have a pattern on the shift knob or a indicator on the floor. From what can tell by shifting, all I have is 4Hi, Hi, N, 4Low. Ive searched and searched online and really couldnt find basic info on this. Even my Haynes manual doesnt say anything.

Looking at the pics of your truck at Pismo I see that you have locking hubs. I'm guessing that you have a 203 with a part time kit installed in it.

I dont know if I have a part time kit installed. Truck had manual hubs when I bought it.

Put it in 2wd and have a look to see if the front driveshaft is rotating. If it is you are still full time.

Would it be part time if i can totate the front shaft in park with the hubs unlocked?
