« on: April 01, 2012, 06:30:44 PM »
my cam is a 268 duration 215@.050 lift with 1.5 rockers .490 lift 110 lsa .i was thinking of going with a howards 180-325-10 ,180-325-08,180-255-10 .the specs on these cams are usually based on 350 cid ,so i was wondering if anyone of these would be a lot better than what i have .if a cam requires a 2500 stall in a 350 will it still need that much stall in a 383 ****Summit Racing Part Number  HRS-180325-08

Just looking quickly, I think you may be pushing the powerband up in the rpm range.

You ask would "would any of these be a lot better than what I have."  That really depends upon what you are trying to achieve and what other components you have to work with. Do you want brute low end torque for towing and don't care about top end or do you want a street machine that you can take to the drag strip?

Cam selection will depend upon what you want to achieve (such as a tow rig vs. street machine), transmission, rear end ratio, exhaust system, heads, rocker ratio, etc.

Have you talked to the cam company about what you want and what you have?
