250 inline 6 experts need some advice
« on: April 07, 2015, 09:35:56 PM »
Looking to upgrade my carb intake and get some LT headers. Anyone know if I can do this to my set up, I know some inline 6 you can't.

Kinda hard to tell in the pictures, but it does look like you have the head with the integral cast intake attached to it.  If you can't unbolt the intake manifold from the head, then yes...you can't change the intake without getting a non-integral head.

so if it's like the pic above it is not possible is this correct?

looks real good. You have any comparisons between old set up this set up performance wise?

Longer cable and a lot of work trying to figure out linkage, I will add a pic of the linkage.

You look to be in luck, I had to find another head that didn't have the intergral intake. I don't have any number or ideas on the performance increase as its waiting on exhaust pipes, don't want to burn a valve ruining it with just headers.

once you get it running update us in yours. Are you doing the lump port on your head or is it already done?

one more question when installing new intake and headers do they share the same bolts like in the picture I have. That's how it looks like it to me?

I didn't do the lump port kit as I planned, we did bigger valves and a cam, didn't think it was needed till you go for major performance upgrades. This is going to be a daily driver for my daughter. The machine shop had never seen the lump kit so I sided with not doing it.
