Heater control w/ac for a '73
« on: October 16, 2013, 10:36:23 AM »
Does anyone know if a heater control unit for a 74/75 will work in my 73?

I couldn't find one on this site but here's a link to the one I found.

To the best of my knowledge, the Factory Air control panel for '73-'75 trucks were the same.

Is your control panel completely missing?

I steal have the original control unit in there. It works, but it's extremely hard to adjust. Very sticky.

Have you tried lubricating the control head with a little lithium grease and spraying the cables with some Tri-Flow or WD-40?

I have not. That sounds a lot cheaper than a new control unit!

It is a little bit of work to do, but most always you can get them "un-stuck" as BD said, I found that if you take the time to take it apart and clean it right it works like new.
