1976 c10 A/C question.....Another one!
« on: February 15, 2020, 11:08:00 AM »
Folks I need some more help....

First, thanks to all those that have helped me in the past.  This is the only forum where I can get correct, actionable information!

So...I had a problem with the floor rusting out in my truck.  After removing carpet, repairing the sheet metal, coating and whatever, I thought I had the problem 'cured'.  I expected external moisture was the problem.  But it isn't...

The A/C condensation is running down on the inside, instead of the outside.  I couldn't tell this when the carpet was installed and in fact I didn't even notice it.

Can anyone give me some advice on re-directing the condensation from the evaporator core outside, instead of running in on the floor?

Thanks, david. (truxson)

The drain is probably clogged. Look at the evaporator case in the engine compartment directly below the evaporator. There is a drain hole, blow it out with compressed air, otherwise, take everything apart and clean it.
