3" exhaust
« on: May 25, 2016, 05:28:21 PM »
Has anyone found a universal bolt on exhaust kit that's 3"? I find a ton in 2 1/4 but never 3". Local shop is between $4-600 to build one and that's with cheap garbage pipe.

is there a reason behind the 3" pipe? duals or single?

I have a decent 6.0 and I want 3" duals. It's a toy and I wanna make noise with it.

If you want 3" done right it's going to cost you. I'm not aware of any direct bolt in kits for exhaust that will fit without modification. There's too many variables

Here are my thoughts on 3" exhausts:   If you like 3" then fine, that's all that matters.  Just be aware that 3" might be too big for most engines.

i think i saw a square with a 3" stack exhausts system the other day.  i'll try to take a picture if it's still parked in the same spot.

This is the 3" system on my 74 and I'm sure it cost me ballpark $1800 including the headers. Granted i had everything coated but for just an aluminized system with mufflers, headers and H-pipe expect to spend $1200+

I'm just looking into these universal header back 3" kits, I think that's the best bang for you buck. I'm part of the small percentage that refuses to believe that 3" is ever too big and that I need back pressure.
