85 6.2 belt drive Fisher Plow
« on: June 07, 2012, 01:17:18 PM »
Hello all,

So I went out and bought another Diesel, this time it's an GMC High Sierra 85 k2500 with the 6.2 and an sm465. My question is can I use the brackets from a chevy 350 or a 454 fisher belt driven pump on the 6.2 without modification. If not does anyone know if fisher still sells the brackets for the old speedcast plows? I have a 7'6" speedcast blade and the a frame, and lights but that is it. I got it for basically free but I don't have the push bars or the pump, controls, lines. So it will need a lot of parts. But I was looking around online today and found an 8 foot fisher speedcast setup complete from an 86 k20 and the guy did not post what engine it had in it but I figure it's probably not a 6.2. So will I be able to transplant everything from a 350 or a 454 to the 6.2 or is she a totally different beast.  Thanks in Advance guys.

I could be confused on what you are asking, but a plow should have little to do with what motor is in the truck.

The older fisher plows have a belt driven hydraulic pump and the brackets that mount to the engine. I am just wondering if they are different but I got lucky because the k20 that it was on amazingly was a 6.2. thanks for the reply though.

Ah, didn't think about a separate hydraulic pump.  Don't have plows around here.
