are they the same?
« on: January 27, 2004, 09:07:00 AM »
I have a 1986 GMC sierra classic 1/2 ton 2wd long box std cab.

All I can find is suspension kits for a 1973-87 C10 2wd.

Are they the same?

73 to 87 1/2 ton suspension is the same across the board. Some parts have different part numbers but physically they are identical. Kinda like when you go into a parts house and tell them you need valve cover gaskets for a 350. Until they changed to centerbolt, they were identical all the way back to the first small block. But still different years have different part numbers sometimes. So as long as you are within the 73-87 years and it 1/2 ton you are good to go.

awesome.

Then I'm going for a 3" suspension lift and 32x12.50/15 tires all round.

That will give me enough clearance that I ca change the oil with drivin up on ramps and I will be able to fill up with fuel while standing up straight.

Oh ya. plus the extra traction and clearance for snow, mud and water.
