Brake Lines for 1991 V3500
« on: May 25, 2015, 08:44:32 PM »
I am in the process of putting a lift on my 1991 Chevy V3500. While installing new brake lines to accommodate the lift, I damaged some of the factory brake lines. The original brake lines are pretty rusty and brittle. At this point, I am considering replacing all of the factory brake lines. Is there a company that makes good quality pre-bent brake lines for these trucks? Or am I better off buying the tools necessary and fabricating my own?

I have tried searching for a brake tubing kit for the V3500's but have come up short. Will the kits for the pre-88/K30 trucks work on the later V3500's?

As far as I know yes they should, not sure tho. A K30 and a V3500 are the same thing, GM just changed the model coding (C/K or R/V) in the late 80s.

You couldn't get RWAL on a 1-ton.

Its not RWAL its a load sensing valve that applied more pressure to the rear wheels the heavier the load in the bed , starting in 87 I think.

yes its a load sensing valve & from what ive read that valve can be tossed without issue, mine will be going in the trash.

there was so many problems with the sensing valve that gm even said to toss it if there was any problems with the rear brakes
