Flashing dome light
« on: May 26, 2019, 10:10:13 PM »
Ok this is weird. I have an 87 Chevy R30 crew cab. It hasn’t been started in probably a year so I put the charger on it. Got it fired up and running but I turned it off I heard a clicking sound. I thought it was the exhaust so I didn’t pay much attention. I just went outside and still heard the clicking hours later. I looked inside and the dome light is flashing. I opened the door and it stopped. I closed the door and it started flashing again. Any thoughts???

Morse code from the gremlins living in your truck. Decode the message

Is your horn button stuck and fuse for the horn blown?

The horn has never worked since I’ve owned the truck. It has a billet steering wheel.

Check your horn fuse.  Mine did something similar but my horn worked until the fuse blew.  Dome light flickered when I tried the horn and the relay was going nuts under the dash.  Not saying that is your problem but something to check

Check the 4-way flasher button on the side of the column to make sure it isn't depressed.  Remove the two flashers, one at a time, to determine when the flashing ceases.
