Have an 84 crew cab dually in excellent shape with a 454 crate motor and 4spd. I would like to convert it to 4wd since the front end needs all new ball joints,bushings, tie rod ends etc. I have a lot of 1/2 ton 4wd parts. I know the axle/front suspension won't work but is it ok to use the 4spd & NP205 transfer? Is there a five speed that will fit? (NV4500?) I'm having trouble finding a donor 4wd dually. Has anyone else done this? Is the frame "drilled" to accept the 4wd pieces? I know this will be a major project. Any pointers appreciated.
