Improved Dash Lights - Cheap
« on: September 17, 2016, 11:49:39 AM »
Thought I would share the results of simply painting the bezel plate in the dash, silver.

This is in my 74 K10.  I just replaced any burned out lights with fresh, stock lights.  The results were better than I expected and the dimmer still works.

Thanks! The others I've seen also involved removing the gauges and painting behind them.  I was pleasantly surprised by the "halfway", lazy mans approach.

Yes sir!  Was supposed to be a mirror type chrome color.  But it's silver at best.  Still reflects more light than the original black/blue.

Perfect, have 1 bulb out and have the indicator lights, not the gauge package so I just have the speedo and gas gauge light up.  I am going to do this.  Thanks for sharing

No prob, I hope it helps!  It puts a silver ring around the gauges that's visible in the day too.  This photo shows the fuel/speedo gauges a little better in the day.

That did come out nice, and bright. I may do the same. Great idea.
